The act of coming to a decision or of fixing or of settling a purpose….

That’s an awesome definition of determination I found in the dictionary. The key word for me is decision.

Sometimes that’s the hardest thing to do, decide what you want or need to do. But you can’t move toward purpose and action without a decision.

That very first novel I penned, I had no clue what to do with it, so it sat for a while until my friend told me to take the next step.

I had to decide what that next step might be. Decide if I wanted to step into the writing world, decide if I wanted to expose my soul like that, and decide to actually do it.

They key is to not get stuck in the process of decision making and never take action on anything. It’s scary to put yourself out there. Especially into something completely foreign to you.

But it can also open you up to new and amazing things you never could have dreamed of.
