GIFTS

dscn22411If you’ve been following my blog, twitter, or facebook for any length of time, you know I spend a ton of time on my road bike.

While pounding out 50-60 miles I have a lot of time to think. I’ve plotted books, thought of how to kill off characters, who should I make evil, etc.

Well, on this particular ride, where I decided to take my sweet hubby’s picture, something dawned on me… I’ve been given certain gifts in life. And yes, I believe they are gifts from God and we all have them.

Sure, I consider writing a gift. The ability to exercise a gift. Leading a small group a gift….but, have you ever considered your spouse (if you have one) to be a gift?

While I as out riding, following behind Charlie (to catch his draft) a thought popped into my head. Kind of like a light bulb flicking on.

Besides God’s love, Charlie’s my greatest gift. He’s a strong, loving leader of the household. He works hard to provide a nice life for us. He’s motivating and encouraging, especially when it comes to my writing.

So, I’ll happily follow Charlie, catching his draft, anyday!!

HI Beth, thanks for visiting. Yep, it’s the same for me…whenever I get a bit frustrated, he’s probably hitting the nail right on the head… 🙂 Glad you stopped by, hope to see you again, Beth.

I am in full agreement my spouse is a gift! Our spouses may frustrate us at times – for me this is usually when I know my husband is right, and I want to be the one who is right, LOL… but my darling husband is kind, supportive, generous, funny, logical, clear-headed and very emotional too. He never asks for anything in return. He’s awesome!

I absolutely think of my hubby as a gift!

He’s exactly what I wanted, and exactly what God knew I needed.

He’s a great spiritual leader, a hard worker with a great work ethic, a fabulous father, a fabulous husband, and a best friend.

God really know what He was doing when He gave me my hubby!

Amen! I have thanked the Lord repeatedly for the wonderful gift he’s given me in my hubby! I love hearing about other’s who feel the same way about their spouses. Blessings!

I’m with you on this one. I don’t understand how single parents do it. I don’t understand how those who have chosen the vocation to be single throughout their lives do it. My husband is my soulmate and best friend. I have no idea what I’d do without him. He’s definitely a huge blessing in my life.

Spouses really are wonderful gifts, aren’t they? Gifts that are always there without fail, day in and day out. Which makes it easy sometimes to take them for granted a little. So thanks, Lynn, for reminding me of what I should never forget.

    Hi Sheri Lynn

You have asked an awesome question, and I would believe that there will not be two of the same stories that you will hear. When I read this question, a lot flashed in my mind, such as my wife and daughter, or my job or my friends and family, but deep in my soul, my greatest gift is the ability to help a person see that they have abilities to be successful in life leading to them reaching their dreams. I find that there are too many people who do not smile or laugh anymore, well, I feel my greatest gift is to give that back to them by showing them how to re-capture it!

    Best,
    Scott
