I surrender #TheRunningWriter

Surrendering is not the same as quitting. I find that there is freedom in surrender. Freedom from myself.

I found a couple definitions:

Surrender: to yield (something) to the possession or power of another.

Quit: to stop, cease, or discontinue.

I can get in my own way, trying to overthink and control situations. Because let’s admit it. We like to be in control. The idea of letting go of, or surrendering, our power is illogical.

But sometimes it’s exactly what we need to do to move forward. To relieve stress and frustration. And it’s right then that we often see clearer. See the answer. It might have been right there the whole time, but we were too busy fighting it and trying to hold on/control things that we missed it.

I look at surrendering as more of letting go of my need to control something versus actually quitting that something.

Is there anything you might need to surrender?
