1. The man likes to play chess; let’s get him some rocks.
2. Come on, I want you to do it, I want you to do it. Come on, hit me. *Hit me!*
3. Mama says they was magic shoes. They could take me anywhere
4. I couldn’t help it, boss. I tried to take it back, but it was too late.

No hints on these. I just grabbed some random ones this week. Good luck!
Leave your guesses in the comments. If you have one that you think will stump me, leave it in the comments and I’ll take a crack at it!!

I knew them all but the Dark Knight reference. It made me think of Fight Club.
“I want you to hit me as hard as you can.”
But I knew that wasn’t right. I wonder if the fact that the three I immediatley recognized are from movies that are based on books helped me in any way. Probably. If they’re good lines then they likely got carried over into the screen play.
And the answers are:
1. The man likes to play chess; let’s get him some rocks. –The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
2. Come on, I want you to do it, I want you to do it. Come on, hit me. *Hit me!* –The Dark Knight (2008)
3. Mama says they was magic shoes. They could take me anywhere –Forrest Gump (1994)
4. I couldn’t help it, boss. I tried to take it back, but it was too late. –The Green Mile (1999)

Thanks for playing, everyone!!!
I think I actually said that line from “The Dark Knight” to the exwife of a client that got in my face in the courthouse back in the 1980s. I added the words, “I’d love to have you arrested” though! LOL!
Oh my word!!! 🙂
I knew the first one was from “Shawshank Redemption”…but none of the other three.
I liked “The Dark Knight”…but I’ve only watched it once and I didn’t recognize the line. “The Green Mile” was OK…but I disliked “Forrest Gump”—I can’t understand why that movie was so popular…it was very boring to me.
Can you recognize these:
“I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse”
“I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore”
“Go ahead, make my day”
“What we’ve got here is a failure to communicate”
“Take your stinking paws off of me, you damn dirty ape!”
The answers are on my post:

Is #2 “The Dark Knight”?
You got it!!! Nice job! That was a tough one. Good movie. Dark, but good. 🙂
At least two of them are Tom Hanks movies — Forest Gump & the Green Mile. Both are BIG TIME faves of mine.
Yeah, those are great movies, aren’t they?? 🙂
Not a single slue…
LOL, Savannah. One of these times I’ll pick a movie you know! 🙂
So is #2 from Rocky?
I’m clueless this week! LOL
Lisa
Good guess, but no. This one is a tough one! 🙂
Ok: 3 is Forrest Gump and 4 is The Green Mile (Steve King Rocks!)
The other two I have no idea. *waving*
**waving back**
Yep, right on the two you guessed. 🙂
It almost appears that you are on a Tom Hanks kick or maybe a prision movie kick! LOL!
I know, right?? LOL
Wow, they’re all familiar, but I couldn’t place any of ’em! You stump me every time. 😉
I’m sorry. 🙂 I do pick some hard ones, don’t I? 🙂
#1-Shawshank Redemption. I cheated.
Yep. Isn’t that a GREAT movie? Sad, yet good. 🙂 I loved that line!
I know #3 is Forrest Gump. Love that movie!
#2…um Fight Club?
I LOVE Forrest Gump, too. I’ve watched that movie a zillion times. LOL.
Not quite. But Kendall guessed that above, too, so I’m starting to wonder if that line is in Fight Club as well as the movie I picked. We’ll have to find out.
Okay, I cheeted. *bows head in shame* I know the answers to 2-5 now. 🙂 Good job, Lynn. Love these quotes. I read the Green Mile years ago, I thought the movie was well done.
Did you check the lines out on http://www.imdb.com? I love that site. It’s my favorite to check out movies and stuff. 🙂
Only one I know is #2 – Fight Club. One of my favorite movies of ALL time. Total and complete mind f*#k! 🙂
Ohhhh…not quite. Now, maybe that line is in Fight Club, but that’s not the movie I pulled this from. I’ve never seen Fight Club….I heard it’s kinda crazy. If this line is in that movie too, that’d be crazy weird. But then again, if you think about it, how can lines NOT overlap movies, right?
OMG!!!!! After being stumped week after week, I finally know two of the quotes! Since I’ve seen Forrest Gump at least 30 times, I know that is number three. I’ve also seen The Green Mile around 15 times and that is number four. Happy Wednesday, Lynn! 🙂
Yep. Forrest Gump is #3. And yep, Green Mile is #4. Nice job!!!!!
I’m completely stumped. Ugh. Have a great day. Sorry, I missed you guys in sprints last night!
That’s okay. We’ll catch ya on the next sprint. 🙂
