Movie Quotes

~~~
Name that movie:
1. Dammit, man! I’m a doctor, not a physicist!
2. They say most of your brain shuts down during cryo-sleep. All but the primitive side, the animal side. No wonder I’m still awake.
3. Hey, Rick! I never made a slam dunk before. Thanks for the boost.
4. Pop quiz, hotshot. There’s a bomb on a bus. Once the bus goes 50 miles an hour, the bomb is armed. If it drops below 50, it blows up. What do you do? What do you do?
    I’ve never seen Last Man Standing, but that quote is familiar. O know I’ve heard it somewhere.
    Lynn, watch The Deep End of the Ocean! It’s better than the book by Jacquelyn Mitchard.
    I’m not spoiling anything you wouldn’t know if you read the blurb: it’s about a woman (Michelle Pfeiffer) at her high school reunion when her 3-year-old son disappears from his brother’s care.
    The boy shows up nine years later and the older son now has troubles with the law and dealing with the return of his long lost brother. The dad (Treat Williams) seems to expect everything to fall into place as though the family had been intact all along.
    Emotional movie.
    Whoopie Goldberg delivers the line about the Gummi bears.
    Oh man. I never heard of The Deep End of the Ocean before. LOL. Hmmm. That one sounds familiar, Brian. . . . On the tip of my tongue. . . . I’m gonna be like, “Oh, I KNEW that” when you tell us the movie, aren’t I?
  • Lorna G. Poston
    Brian is correct. The Deep End of the Ocean.
    “It’s a funny thing about people. One time out of a hundred they turn out better than you expect.”~~ I should know this one, but I can’t remember.
  • Brian Romberg
    “Tough guys chew Gummi bears.” – The Deep End of the Ocean (was on tv about 3 times in a row one weekend recently).
    How about this one: “It’s a funny thing about people. One time out of a hundred they turn out better than you expect.”
    Ahhhhh, Regarding Henry!!!!!!! I LOVE that movie. Haven’t thought of that one in a long time. AND I sure do remember that part. AND when he does decide to say when. LOVE IT.
    Oh boy, you’re stumping me here. “Tough guys chew gummy bears?” Yikes. I don’t know that one either. Wild Cats? Or maybe The Replacements?
    “When you’ve had enough Mr. Turner, you say ‘when.’” ~~Regarding Henry.
    How about this one: “Tough guys chew gummy bears.” 😀
    Lorna–Oh man, I don’t know that one. Turner. . . isn’t that Pirates of the Caribbean???
    Anyone else know???
    Cuz I’m thinking Ralene’s is Pirates of the Caribbean. . . Am I right Ralene?
  • Lorna G. Poston
    I only knew number 4: Speed.
    Try this one: “When you’ve had enough Mr. Turner, you say ‘when.'”
  • Ralene
    I LOVE the Riddick movies. 🙂
    Here’s one, possible an easy one, but a fav of mine. hehehe…
    “You like pain? Try wearing a corset!”
  • Lynn Rush
    Oh, man, you guys are good.
    Yep, #1 is Star Trek. Thought you guys wouldl get that one. . . 🙂
    Ralene–you guess right. #2 is Pitch Black. I LOVE that movie. Oh, and the Chronicles of Riddick…that’s good too! He’s so DARK, yet, has a heart. . . is that even possible? LOL.
    So far no one’s guessed #3. It’s not Ferris Bueller.
    Kat—I love that line from Sandra about telling him she had her license revoked. That cracks me up EVERY time. So yes, #4 is Speed.
    Anyone else out there want to try and stump us?
  • Lori Lundquist
    #1 – MY FAVE MOVIE of 2009… Star Trek! Bones is a crack-up!
    #2 – The Mask?
    #3 – Ferris Bueller?
    #4 – just watched this last week… Speed! Good movie in which to observe Keanu Reeve’s biceps. 🙂
    Yay, movies! Fun stuff, Lynn. Thanks for the challenge. Happy Wednesday!
  • Ralene
    Hmm…I agree with Kat for #1 and #4. I have no clue about #3. #2, I am taking a wild guess–Pitch Black? Man, now I’m gonna have to rewatch the movie to see if I’m right. lol…
    I love these posts!
    1. Dammit, man! I’m a doctor, not a physicist!
    I’m pretty sure this is a Star Trek movie. I can’t remember which one.
    2. They say most of your brain shuts down during cryo-sleep. All but the primitive side, the animal side. No wonder I’m still awake.
    I’m stumped on this one, but I have a couple of ideas.
    3. Hey, Rick! I never made a slam dunk before. Thanks for the boost.
    I’m not sure about this one either, but I’m going to guess White Men Can’t Jump.
    4. Pop quiz, hotshot. There’s a bomb on a bus. Once the bus goes 50 miles an hour, the bomb is armed. If it drops below 50, it blows up. What do you do? What do you do?
    Well, I should probably tell you that I’m taking the bus because I had my driver’s license revoked. 🙂 This is one of my favorite Sandra Bullock movies.
