Musical Monday

Okay, I have an oldie but a goodie this week. . . .

I got to Tucson on Saturday to hang out with my mom for a few days.

During our fun time hiking, playing boggle, and playing cards, she told me what her favorite song was. . .

Simon and Garfunkel’s Sounds of Silence:

So, I thought it’d be perfect for Musical Monday!

Hope you have a GREAT DAY wherever you may be!

I can pick out tunes on a piano… wish I could play better. I was in band/orchestra, though, throughout school – flute and piccolo. Music’s in my blood!

KM Wilsher–It is a little haunting, isn’t it?
    KM–Yeah!!
Liza–Glad I picked a good one for ya–er–my mom picked a good one for ya. LOL.

    Thanks for stopping by, everyone.

Thanks for picking this song for Monday! What a great a way to start the week.

Listening to the song took my back to when I was a young girl singing to the tunes of the Everly Brothers, Paul Anka, and Tom King on our 8-track cassette player. Yikes, technology sure has changed in the past 40 years! 🙂 Hope everyone has a great week.

Jill–You’re welcome. When my mom picked that as her favorite song, I was, like, “Hey, I know that song!” It’s pretty good!
Roy–Yes, I’m lucky to have a good relationship with my mom, you’re right!
Danica–Bridge Over Troubled Water…I’ll go check that one out 🙂
Lori–Sheet music? Wow, that’s awesome. So, can you play this song on an instrument?

I love this song, but I’m with Jill…Bridge Over Troubled Water is my mom’s favorite and I always associate it with her. Great musical Monday!

Thank you for posting. I am glad that you have a good relationship with your mom. I didn’t. Although we did get things smoothed over before her death. I also like this song.

Thanks for the Monday morning tune! What a great song. I was listening to their CD a couple weeks ago. Bridge Over Troubled Water is my mom’s favorite…beautiful song.
Have a great day and pass it on!
