MUSICAL MONDAYS

Musical Mondays is about our favorite music. What’s your favorite song? If you’re a writer, does it inspire your creativity? Cure writer’s block? If you’re not a writer, what do your favorite songs do for you?

NOISE, by Jessie Daniels

I listen to music for all many reasons. Inspiration to write. Draw me closer to God. Cure writers block. Get stoked for a race. To pass the time while punding out 50+ miles on the road bike. But Jessie Daniels song, NOISE, is one that brings me closer to God. The entire song does that; however, these words specifically touched my heart.

I hear your voice
Coming through the static
It’s so automatically loud and clear
It’s you
And things that used to matter
Suddenly just scatter
When you break through
The Noise

***

HIS voice is so loud if I let it break through the NOISE I clutter my ears with. Oh, and the part where she says “And things that used to matter suddenly just scatter” it’s so true.

So, what song is rockin’ your world lately?

I really like that song. Since I got an iTunes card for Christmas I’ll have to add that to my iPod. Thanks for sharing. I’ll keep checking.

    Thanks for stoppin’ by everyone.
Billy, I like Brad Paisley, but I’ll have to check out his Away in a Manger.
Avily, I’ve never heard of Evanessence. I’m gonna check them out on itunes later.
Kat, self-imposed music hiatus? I think I might die if I did that. LOL
Sarah, I haven’t been able to get into the Christmas music much lately. Maybe on Christmas Day….
Gwen, I’m totally lovin’ Faith Hill…her voice is amazing.

    Merry Christmas, everyone.

Faith Hill’s brand new Christmas song this year, “A Baby Changes Everything”. Stunning. The only line of lyrics I don’t care for is, “Teenage girl, much too young”. I don’t think Mary was too young; I think she was the perfect age…the age God intended her to be when she conceived. 🙂 Other than that, incredibly moving song. The ending…wow.

I’m with Billy. I’m into Christmas music for at least a few more days. I like Mercy Me’s rendition of O Holy Night. One of my favorites.

I had not heard of Jessie Daniels, thanks for sharing. Glad to have you home. I’m having computer issues so the only songs on the brain are the Christmas ones from Church. Tracy had reminded me about Ol Lang Syne, I want to pull that one up! Lots of feelings/memories with that song. Thanks Lynn!

    I love this song!

I think I’m on a self-imposed music hiatus right now. But I really feel like going home and listening to Chris Isaak.

This time of year is all about the Christmas songs. Between my wife and me, I think we have every Christmas CD from every singer in existence. But we both still love Away in a Manger (the Brad Paisley version gets two thumbs up). It doesn’t get much better than that.
