MUSICAL MONDAYS

Musical Mondays about our favorite music. What’s your favorite song? If you’re a writer, does it inspire your creativity? Cure writer’s block? If you’re not a writer, what do your favorite songs do for you?

Have you ever heard of Casting Crowns? They are an amazing band. We’ve seen them in concert and were forever changed. Their songs, specifically their lyrics, are profound. On many levels. Check this one out.

I posted a couple sections of the lyrics that moved me the most. To see them all click: lyrics.

He used to say, “Whoever dies with the most toys wins”
But if he loses his soul, what has he gained in the end

‘Cause he worked and he built with his own two hands
And he poured all he had in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are coming crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands

I ask myself, on what foundation is my life built? When trouble hits, do I stand firm? At what sacrifice do I pursue my dreams?

Wow, this song and those words hit home for me. Did they with you as well? What song has altered your world? I’d love to hear about it!

Casting Crowns is amazing. You’re right you guys, there’s always a song that ministers to me, and just when I need it, too. Kinda crazy! God is good!

I LOVE CASTING CROWNS! Yes, I was shouting. I always connect with music and have always used it for healing, and inspiration, and fun, and cleaning the house… It’s hard to pick favorites though – most of the 450 songs on my Ipod are “my favorite!” HEHEHE…

    Great words of wisdom!

Lots of good stuff in songs. Like Sarah, I can think of a song to go with just about anything in my life.

    Thanks Lynn!

I’ve found that no matter what situation I’m dealing with, they have a song with lyrics to fit my needs. My very own soundtrack! Wow, what a great testimony they have…

I’ve always liked Casting Crowns. (But they’re the one Christian group I haven’t interviewed.)

I like the message in this song. It’s a good reminder to slow down and remember what’s important.

But now I’m going to have that like about All work and no play…stuck in my head.
