MUSICAL MONDAYS–Blog Host Caleb Aspros

Hello. My name is Caleb Aspros. I’m the subject of Lynn Rush’s novel, Guardian. She thought it would be fun to have me host for a week.

My first response was, “Me? A three-hundred-year-old Guardian? What on earth would I have to write about?”

Lynn simply replied, “Duh, you’re a three-hundred-year-old Guardian. You must have some stories tucked up that ancient sleeve of yours.”

So, with the help of my computer savvy fellow Guardian, Madison, I’ll give it a try. It helps that we start with music. This is something I’ve enjoyed over the centuries. But, recently I have found this song, While I’m Waiting, by John Waller.

I know, you probably expected some classical hymn or something, am I right? Despite my resistance to many of the changes over the centuries, my appreciation of music has evolved.

I picked this song for a reason. Lynn tells me it is a very long process getting a book published and involves a lot of waiting. Even though the song is from the movie Fireproof and is about marriage, I think it’s appropriate to all waiting. It’s difficult, but we must persevere.

Enjoy, and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Hi, Avily–Thanks for the welcome, I’m glad you liked the song. I hope to “see” you stop by again soon.

Lynn, I love it when your characters host!
    Caleb, welcome!!!

Beautiful song, and I, like the other writers here, can totally relate! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Wendy–Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you liked the song. I remember jazz artist, Shelton Brooks from the early 1900s. Jazz is very soothing, indeed–and with my hurried life guarding the city….it’s nice to relax to it once in a while.

I stopped by to meet Caleb and was treated to that beautiful song. Thank you.

As for my favorite song, who can pick one? My favorite album is Starkindler by Michael Card, but I just made a smooth jazz playlist I love. It shuffles Stรฉphane Grappelli & Yehudi Menuhin, the soundtracks of No Reservations, French Kiss, plus some favorite singles like Old Cape Cod, Moonlight in Vermont, Cohen’s Hallelujah, Kamakawiwo’ole’s Over the Rainbow, and Adia. Loving it.

I look forward to visiting again.

Kat–Yes, indeed. I spent much time waiting…for many things. It’s very difficult sometimes but usually well worth it!!

I’m guessing that in 300 years, you’ve done a lot of waiting yourself, Caleb. Am I right?

This is a very applicable song. Nice to meet you.

Well, Caleb. Seems you’re doing pretty well on your first day of hosting my blog. Madison’s doing a good job helping you for sure! ๐Ÿ™‚

HI KM. Glad you stopped by. Miss ya, sister. Hope the studying is going well! I know Guardian is your fav of the ones you’ve read of mine…so I’m glad he “agreed” to post. LOL. Okay, I coaxed him… **wink**

    Have a great day everyone.

KM–Wow, I love your enthusiasm. It’s so inspiring. But famous? I may be the subject of one of Lynn’s novels, but famous I am not.

Oh, and please tell about Judas Priest….You’ve got me curious, now.

Singles waiting on a mate…wow, hadn’t considered that, but I should have. I waited over 300 years for mine. I will tell Lynn hello, indeed. Hope all is well with you.

I’m jumping up and down! Caleb? Seriously! Wow-I am so glad to finally meet you, and we get to hear from you all week?! Whoo hoo.

(Sorry I always make a fool out of myself when I meet famous people. Ask me sometime about Judas Priest. . .)

Great song- you can really relate it to most anything in life. . .singles waiting on a mate/students working toward graduation/writers working toward finishing their project/publishing/healing/debt. . . great!

Tell Lynn hello. Haven’t seen her in weeks. (I’ve been out of pocket)

Can’t wait to see what you have for us this week, Caleb. . .It’s an honor ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello, Tracy. Thank you for the warm welcome. I was a bit worried, since I’m so old and not “down” with all the techie things involved with blogging.

๐Ÿ™‚ (Oh, Madison showed me how to do the smiley face, by the way)

Good to meet you, Caleb! Lynn is a pretty fantastic person, and I’m thrilled you’re filling in for her this week. Great song. Right now I can’t really think of any “favorites” but typically love a lot of music in general. I’m looking forward to visiting with you again this week!
