MUSICAL MONDAYS

Musical Mondays about our favorite music. What’s your favorite song? If you’re a writer, does it inspire your creativity? Cure writer’s block? If you’re not a writer, what do your favorite songs do for you?

I discovered this song this weekend at church. Our band sang it during the offering time. My church’s music ministry often rocks my world with the songs they choose. It could be an old song or a newer one that’s riding the airwaves at every radio station every four hours. It’s more about the timing and context that rocks my world.

For some reason, this one hit me hard. Especially the words, “Give me your eys for just one second, Give me your eyes so I can see, Everything that I keep missing, Give me your love for humanity, Give me your amrs for the broken hearted, Ones that are far beyond my reach. Give me your heart for the ones forgotten, Give me your eyes so I can see.”

I’m often so self absorbed in what I want to do with my time, my money, my, my, my…..and this song so nicely puts it that we should be looking at those around us who need us to see them!

So, what songs are you listening to? Any stories behind them? I’d love to hear it.

Yup, that’s a great song. I mentioned it on your last Musical Monday.

    Musical Mondays are my fave!

Thanks for sharing your love of music with us!

Thanks gzusfreek. I love them too. Music and writing are so close to my heart, they go hand in hand.

Thanks for visiting Avily. May the music inspire you on your writing adventure for NaNo!!

That’s very powerful, Thanks Lynn! Music has a way of really getting to me sometimes, and I love discovering something new that really tugs at me.

Lrush, Love musical Mondays! Thanks for – Give me your eyes! Our preachers could have used that for their sermon series! It’s over though, oh well! I loved it!
I do not follow country music, but most of my family does. I am pretty familiar with it because of that fact. This morning my mom asked me to tape a news spot on Trace Adkins. It showed him visiting the troops and his new song “Muddy Water”. I liked the lyrics! The video was great.
I have never been married, but I have been baptized and that is the greatest day of my life — to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and be born again, wash my sins away, put on a new garment. A outward statement of my inward Faith! This video/song was a great reminder of the day the Angels had a party because of a decision I made! The most important decision I will make in all eternity!
Here is an address for the lyrics, if you are interested.

    Again, thanks for Musical Mondays!

I just gave away Brandon Heath’s latest CD on my work blog (with the Sara Groves CD). I like the mellow tone to his work that helps the listener really reflect and meditate.

    Good stuff.

Thanks for visiting, Amy. I’m not sure what happened to the link…very strange. IT’s not letting me post the video. Bummer. It’s a great video, so I just put the link. We’ll see if they do a January Nano….If they do, I’m ready for it.

Lynn — Great song! It’s very easy to lose focus on God and back to ourselves, and this is a good reminder 🙂 (your video didn’t work, but the lyrics link plays the song as well as gives the words).

I’ll be interested to hear what you decide about January for NANO — if you do decide to go for it, let me know, maybe we can be buddies. I’m not SURE yet but it’s exciting to think about!
