Musical Mondays is about our favorite music. What’s your favorite song? If you’re a writer, does it inspire your creativity? Cure writer’s block? If you’re not a writer, what do your favorite songs do for you?

Citizen Soldier, by 3 Doors Down

If you’ve been to the movies any time recently, you may have seen this video/heard this song in the previews.  It’s always rocked my world, but I’ve never downloaded it.  I finally did, and it’s made it onto my “Favorites” lists!  It’s just an awesome thing…the song AND what it represents.  Our soldiers sacrificing for our freedoms.

May God bless them.  So, check this out and let me know what you think.

I love the part where it says, “Right here underneath my wing, you can rest your head.”  If you want to check out the full set of lyrics CLICK HERE

So, any new songs rockin’ your world out there?

  1. Sarah and Lynn, the whole Third Day cd with Revelation on it is really, really good. I highly recommend it.

Three Doors Down has been one of my favorite bands since “When You’re Gone.” Good stuff.

  2. Sarah, I just went to You Tube to see Revelation. GREAT SONG. Just bought it off of iTunes. Thanks for the suggestion. it’s a great song!

I often listen to music while I’m writing, but some scenes require total silence….but for the most part, it’s very influential in my writing:-)

  3. “Revelation” by Third Day has been stuck in my head since I first heard it a few days ago. Check it out!

Three Doors Down are wonderful. Great song by a great band.

  4. Thanks for posting this Lynn – it’s great! I love music – especially songs that tell stories (thus my intense love for country music). I don’t listen to music when I write (or read, or study, etc.) though, unless I’m using a particular song for inspiration. Otherwise it’s just too distracting for me! Blessings, my friend!
