Rain #TheRunningWriter

We don’t get a lot of clouds in the desert. Or rain. Except during the monsoon season. Then it seems to rain every evening. And sometimes in the morning, which can play havoc with my trail time if there’s lightning.

The rain is so refreshing. It washes the dust from the air, so the next time it’s light outside you can see for miles and miles. It makes things crisp and clear.

I think problems and issues in our lives are like that rain. They change things up for us, make you do things differently for a while and because of that, you get a new perspective on life.

It’s those times of rain that you step back and take a good look at what’s happening in your life. Is what you’re doing or worrying about really important in the grand scheme?

While rain is inconvenient sometimes, after it’s done, things are clearer and I’m thankful for it.
