Reflections #TheRunningWriter

As we near the end of the year, we usually start to reflect on things, right? You start seeing the hashtags #BestNine pictures of the year…things like that.

What kind of feelings does that reflection time bring up for you?

For me, I feel lots of joy as I reflect on my time with my sweet hubby and my time on the trails. Great memories made for sure.

There’s sadness, too. Death of loved ones has plague our family this last year. While I acknowledge the sadness, I to try not to dwell in it too long, because it can start to taint the things I find joy in.

We’ll never outrun sadness and heartache, it will find us eventually, but what I do with the time in between…well, I choose joy.
