My heart hurts when I get online and read how people treat each other while debating an issue.

I can’t even call it a debate. It’s more of a contest on how much each person can cut down and rip on people and their opposing viewpoints.

Even worse. Keyboard courage has trickled over into face-to-face discussions, too. Name calling. Berating. Judging.

Look, it’s okay to have opinions. I know I do. But we need to put down our gavels and show some respect when discussing them. And yes, we might have to agree to disagree.

We’re not called judge people. We’re called to love them. Even if we don’t agree with them.

So let’s all play nice, okay?
