• Happy Weekending

I have a good friend who always says Happy Weekending. I just love the phrase. It’s a time to rejuvenate after a long week of work. So, I hope you rest and relax a little…and maybe take in a stunning sunset….

This picture was taken near my house one evening. Not sure the picture can do it justice, though. It was just amazing!

If you have any pictures of sunsets or sunrises, send them my way. I’ll post them!

    Have a SUPER DAY!

  • Sedona Sunset

You know I love sunrises — I post pictures of them enough between here and Facebook. But I love sunsets, too.

So, I have one for ya here. I took this one from my dad’s backyard in Sedona, AZ.

Sedona is one of my favorite places to visit. Not just because it’s where my dad lives, but also for its inspiring beauty. I’ve written many thousands of words up there while looking upon this beauty.

I hope you all have a great weekend and get to take some time to enjoy a nice sunrise or sunset!

    See you Monday.

  • Weekend photo

I love livin’ in the desert. First, I love the heat. Yep, I don’t mind the 110+ degree weather. Of course, I’ve only been living here going on six years, so maybe in a few more I’ll be singing a different tune. But for now. I love it.

Second. I love all the cactus everywhere. Pair that with my love of sunsets…it makes for some pretty sweet photo opportunities. While I’ve taken tons of pictures of sunsets and cactus…I found this one on Photobucket.

I love the variations of colors and that the cactus looks black!! Such beauty can be found in the dry desert. I never would have imagined.

I hope you all have a great weekend and find some time to slow down and witness a fantastic sunrise or sunset!

  • And I’m off…

I’m up in beautiful Sedona, AZ today, running a half marathon. What’s unique about this particular 13.1 miles–HILLS.

    Yep.

Although Sedona has fantastic views, beautiful red rock….it also has massive hills.

    But that’s the challenge, right?

I ran this course last year in just over two hours. I’m hoping for just under two hours this time…

I might need a little help from the road runner, huh? *grin*

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

  • Happy Weekend

Here’s a fantastic picture from Lake Pleasant. I took this one last weekend. I can just never get enough of watching the sun rise. We got there especially early this past weekend, so I got to see the very beginnings of it.

  • Making Movies

My nephew recently spent a few days with us. He flew from Denver, CO all by himself–at the age of nine soon-to-be-ten! Nothin’ scares that kid!

Anyway. . . I’m big into pictures, right? Take my camera everywhere. So, I thought, “Hey, let’s try and make one of those little iMovie things with them.”

I mean, I have a Mac…it comes with all these iDVD and iMovie things, might as well try.

    Oh man…I’m HOOKED!!

I’m totally not very good at it yet, but I’m having fun.

Here’s a look at my first ever:

We had so much fun. I was sore for, like, three days from that tubing and boating stuff. But it was soooo worth it! Such great memories were made with our nine-year-old nephew.

Have you guys ever done little things like this movie-thing? Any hints? I hear a lot of authors make their book trailers with movie making software on their computers. Not sure I’m ready to try anything like that, but this sure was fun!
