• Wasteland Music. . .

    SKILLET!

Anyone who’s been following me on Twitter and Facebook for a while has seen me rave about this band. I’d heard them before, but about a month or so ago, I heard Awake and Alive and FELL IN LOVE.

Even though I didn’t write Wasteland while listening to this song, when I heard it, I decided it represented the book pretty well!

There are a couple verses that really stick out:

When my faith is getting weak
And I feel like giving in
    You breathe into me again

The girl signing that part ROCKS. On the official video, she’s pounding the drums like a maniac while belting out this verse like no other! Amazing.

    Another verse I love:

I’m at war with the world cause I
Ain’t never gonna sell my soul

If you followed the blog last week, you learned a bit more about David while he hosted for a few days. His demon half works to overcome his human half, but David refuses to give in. Understandably, he gets tired.

And a little testy…..Like here, in this interview with Kendall Gray’s character, Gavin.

David’s giving the whole interview-thing another shot, though. He’s getting interviewed on Ciara Knight’s blog today. Her character, Alexander, is asking a few pointed questions….Come check it out (click here.)

Happy Tuesday, everyone. Thanks for sharing my journey to publication with me.

  • Musical Monday

On Saturday, one of our music guys at my church, Danny Larsh, sang a song called, Count Me In. Oh my word…Danny sang it so well I had to find out who was the artist.

    Leeland.

I have several of their songs already, even seen them in concert before…but I didn’t know of this song.

So, as you can guess, I went right to iTunes and got it.

Hope you like it as well:

I was introduced to this group on KM Wilsher’s blog. She’s got rockin’ taste in music. A little bit on the hard rock side for me, but this group, she’s got me hooked!

She played Crow and Butterfly on her blog last week. I’m so glad she did. I went out and downloaded four of their songs. This one, I Dare You, has got me (along with Crow and Butterfly)

They have such a great sound. I had them playing when I did a thirty mile bike ride the other day, and it powered me up a hill!

Thanks, KM! Hope you all enjoy the song!

Do you guys have any songs to suggest for me? My playlists are getting boring!

While I’m Waiting, by John Waller

I know I’ve put this song on Musical Monday before in response to seeing the Fire Proof movie. But, I just had to put it on again in response to life events that have thrust me in a time of waiting.

I’ll share more about that on tomorrow’s post, but to get in the mindset on how to wait, this song holds so much truth for me.

    My FAVE lyrics:

    I’m Waiting

    I’m waiting on you lord

    I am hopeful

    I’m waiting on you lord

    The wait is painful

    But patiently I will wait

I will move ahead bold and confident

    Taking every step in obedience

So, my friend, Lori, had this awesome Toby Mac song on her blog last week. Now, I’ve loved Toby Mac for a long time, but when I watched the video Lori had posted, I fell in love with Toby Mac all over again.

After watching it, I went right to iTunes and downloaded four songs. I’ve been listening to them non stop since.

So thanks, Lori, for re-introducing me to Toby Mac.

Here’s my choice for Musical Monday

City on Our Knees by Toby Mac.

    Enjoy!
