• Humbling Review . . .

    I’ll tell ya, there are few things more nerve wracking than awaiting reviews of a book you’ve spent tireless hours, weeks, months, or, in some cases years, writing. It’s part of the adventure, but still…

    I’ve shared pretty much all of the ups and downs of my journey toward publication here on the blog, and I’ve cherished your continued support. So, I’m honored to share with you this review of Wasteland I received from Rebecca Zanetti.

    WASTELAND is a fast paced, sexy, romantic tale with characters who instantly capture your attention…and your heart.The hero is honorable and darkly tormented, while the heroine is idealistic and strong.Lynn Rush has created a world of good and evil-where nothing is quite as it seems.I lost myself in the story and truly enjoyed every minute of it. ~~Rebecca Zanetti, author of FATED

    I’m so very humbled by her kind words. I know not everyone will like my novel or my writing for that matter. It’s impossible to please everyone. But to receive such kind words from someone I respect as a person and writer, I’m truly humbled.

    Thanks for celebrating this with me, everyone.

  • This Writer’s Journey . . .

    ~~~
    Writing is a journey, one I truly love and enjoy, but it can sometimes feel rather lonely. Hour after hour, alone, at the computer, pouring your heart and soul into each word. But I’ve learned I’m not alone, in fact, I’ve been blessed to be in contact with some amazing people, both writers and non-writers.
    I want to share a bit of that with you. Each week I’ll be spotlighting someone I’ve come in contact with during my journey. Thanks for stepping along side of me-all of you-during this exciting time!
    Rebecca Zanetti
    I met Rebecca in the Mud Puddle. That’s the name of the critique group offered through the Fantasy, Futuristic, & Paranormalchapter of Romance Writers of America. I found that chapter by placing in a contest they offered (On the Far Side) with my Frostbite manuscript.
    I tell you, it led to more than I could have ever imagined. Sure, it was great placing in that contest, but the long-lasting effects were ten-fold. I landed my agent after having great critiques of my novels in the Mud Puddle group. Rebecca was one of those wonderful critique partners who helped me learn so much.
    She took the time to read some of my postings and gave honest, helpful, and encouraging feedback. She’s a talented writer, kind person, and I’m proud to know her.
    I’m so excited for her because her debut novel is releasing next week! Just CLICK HERE for details. It’s a great book.
  • Fated, by Rebecca Zanetti
    Back cover blurb:
    MARRY ME
    Cara Paulsen does not give up easily. A scientist and a single mother, she’s used to doing whatever it takes to protect her daughter. But “Whatever it takes” has never before included a shotgun wedding to a dangerous stranger with an attitude problem…
    OR ELSE
    Sure, the mysterious Talen says that he’s there to protect Cara and her daughter. He also says that he’s a three-hundred-year-old vampire. Of course, the way he touches her, Cara might actually believe he’s had that long to practice…
    My Review:
    I was lucky enough to get an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) so I thought I’d put up a review early to get you ready. It might be mean of me, though, because you’ll want to run out and get the book to read it, but it’s not available until February 2011!
    I know, I’m evil. But after reading it, I can’t NOT say what I think about it.
    I’d read some of it during the critique process because Rebecca and I belong to the same critique group through the FF&P chapter of RWA. After having only read a few chapters during that, I’ve been chomping at the bit to read the entire book.
    Wow, she did NOT disappoint.
    First of all, the story is really unique. I love the premise. Second, her writing is stellar. I read the book in one day. Each chapter kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more and more.
    I must warn whoever picks up this book–it contains some steamy, steamy scenes. She reminds me of Gena Showalter. Steamy writing, but great stories, great characters, and great writing!
    I just loved Talen. He’s a complex character. Really rough and harsh, yet has a tender side, too. That’s my favorite. Rebecca wrote him really well. I just couldn’t wait to see what he’d do next.
    So, mark it on your calendar-it’ll be out in February 2011. Or, to save time, you could go pre-order it now. That’s the one I would recommend you do.
