• S is for Seether and Skillet

Okay, I know you’re getting sick of me posting Skillet.

But seriously, that band rocks. They’ve been SOOOO influential in the whole Wasteland Trilogy, I just have to play them on the A to Z Music Challenge…

This is my favorite video. Check out that drummer. How the heck does she sing like that while hammering on those drums?

Another “S” band that’s showing up on my Wasteland Trilogy playlists is SEETHER. My dear friend Kendall Grey turned me onto this group.

    Check this one out:

    SKILLET!

Anyone who’s been following me on Twitter and Facebook for a while has seen me rave about this band. I’d heard them before, but about a month or so ago, I heard Awake and Alive and FELL IN LOVE.

Even though I didn’t write Wasteland while listening to this song, when I heard it, I decided it represented the book pretty well!

There are a couple verses that really stick out:

When my faith is getting weak
And I feel like giving in
    You breathe into me again

The girl signing that part ROCKS. On the official video, she’s pounding the drums like a maniac while belting out this verse like no other! Amazing.

    Another verse I love:

I’m at war with the world cause I
Ain’t never gonna sell my soul

If you followed the blog last week, you learned a bit more about David while he hosted for a few days. His demon half works to overcome his human half, but David refuses to give in. Understandably, he gets tired.

And a little testy…..Like here, in this interview with Kendall Gray’s character, Gavin.

David’s giving the whole interview-thing another shot, though. He’s getting interviewed on Ciara Knight’s blog today. Her character, Alexander, is asking a few pointed questions….Come check it out (click here.)

Happy Tuesday, everyone. Thanks for sharing my journey to publication with me.
