The blank page . . .
Daring me to put down some words.
As if I could turn down a challenge like that, right?
So…I typed.
And Typed.
And Typed.
It’s the third book in Mandy’s trilogy. It was totally fun getting back into Mandy’s eighteen year-old-mind again and letting the words flow.
She’s such a fun character to write. But who wouldn’t have fun writing about someone who can shoot ice and snow from her fingertips and lift two-ton trucks over her head, right?
I’m just sayin’.
But back to my title: “The blank page…”
How do YOU feel about that blank page? Starting a new story?

First pages are the best. I can’t stand rewriting and editing…it’s such a bore. The thrill of a first draft, of the blank page, of not knowing what’s coming next…it’s unbeatable.

I’ve only ever looked at a blank page twice, so I don’t have a lot of experience with it. I’m one of those people who spends two years on one story. The blank page doesn’t scare me, but getting through all the written ones does. 🙂

Oh, that blank page freaks me out. All the words of advice I’ve received today have been great. I need to put one sentence down, and the rest will just come. I hope!

The first scene in a book is most often my favorite to write, so I love a blank page! I started a new book last night (third one in the Dark Protectors) and had a ball. Now I need to edit… 🙂

Ohhh, yeah! I can’t wait ’til FATED comes out. . . . I’m glad you’re working on the next books. Hopefully they can come out really fast after FATED so we don’t have to wait too long! 🙂

LOVE a blank document! Possibilities are actually endless. And that makes me happy. 🙂

Woo-Hoo! Write on, girl!

These days, a blank page is distracting! I’m in the middle of editing and have learned that I just need to open my WIP directly from the documents page, instead of opening Word first. I’m too tempted to play with new words instead of fixing old ones! lol…

LOL. I can see how that’d be distracting! I like editing a bunch, but the rush of starting a new story is much better!

I’ll admit, I get downright excited when I start a new story. My mind just tosses out ideas left and right and I have to pick the perfect place to start. It’s challenging, but so worth it!

I love throwing ideas down, then getting them in the best order. Write on, my friend! Woot!

If I have an idea, a blank page is exciting and exilerating. If I don’t have an idea, a blank page taunts me–like a bully. Boo. ;)-
Lynn Rush
True. I guess if there is no idea a blank page could be very daunting.

I love starting a new story. It’s exciting to know that within the next month or two, I’m going to create a complete unique concept. The last page is the hardest for me.
Lynn Rush
Last pages are tough, aren’t they?

A blank sheet of paper is like a blanket laid out for a picnic: It’s just begging for the ants to swarm over it and form words. My job is to try my best to arrange those words into some sort of logical and coherent order so a reader smiles at the story that forms.
Lynn Rush
ANTS! Nice. Never heard it described that way. SWEET!
