Life and Whatnot

The Men in My Life. . .

There are two very important men in my life. First, my hubby, Charlie. The second, my dad, Don.

This past week I got to spend some AWESOME time with both of them.

It started with an impromptu visit to Sedona to hang out with my dad. We went running through the red rocks of Sedona.

I’m so blessed to be able to run shoulder-to-shoulder with my dad. If you don’t remember, he’s the one who did the 3,100 mile bike ride across the country , so you can guess where I inherited the genes for extreme/endurance sports.

But hey, I’m not complaining. He’s been such a fantastic influence on me. He taught me focus and determination.

The week ended with my sweet hubby having a couple days off from work, so I got to spend tons of time with him.

We started off with a thirty-milebike ride, then spent time downtown where I got to eat some SWEET yogurt from MOJOs.

We sauntered around Borders and Barnes & Noble (two of my favorite places), hung out with some friends, then rounded off the weekend by watching movies and eating junk food.

All that time with the two men in my life got me thinking.

I’m really blessed.

They’ve supported me and encouraged me to follow my passion of writing. For that, I’m forever grateful.

So, who are the special people in your life who give you unconditional love and support?

    Hi, Lynn!
My dad and my husband are the top two, by far! And an extra blessing, they get along great. That unity and love gives me a great deal of peace and feelings of gratitude!

No question about it, my parents and my partner of 14 years, Derek. My parents, who recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary are my rocks. Growing up, they provided me with a safe and loving home and as an adult, they continue to be there for me. I love hanging out with them! Of course, I never would have thought I say that back when I was a teenager. 🙂 Derek provides me with constant support and encouragement with anything I decide to take on. He has been my greatest cheerleader as I tackle NANOWRIMO for the first time this year. Love the picture of you and your dad. You look so much alike. 🙂

I’m very luck to have my Hubby/Soul Mate. We’ve been together since I was too young to know what a soul mate, but when I watched my parents marriage crumble after 28 years, I realized that’s what we were. Imagine spending 28 years with someone and then realizing that you never loved them…well, it made me realize how lucky I am to have someone who supports me so completely. I never doubt his love for me and that’s a precious feeling.

Great post Lynn, thanks for sharing the special men in your life with us.–well, you know what I mean. *smiles*

    Great post, Lynn!

My parents have always encouraged me to follow my dreams. Without their continuing support, I wouldn’t be the adult I am today. I feel blessed to have them in my life, even if I don’t get too see them very often.

    That’s so wonderful, Lynn 🙂

The men in my life are my brother, whom I wrote an essay about yesterday for his birthday. He was pleased, I think. My godson, who at 19, still thinks of me as his second Mom. He even said so last night and okay, I felt a little sappy about it 😉 The other one is my eldest nephew, who is so impossible and rude, but sweet and funny, too. I’ve spent so much time with the three of them over the years and I want to include them in every aspect of my life. They love me, even though they give me a hard time, and I love them…even though I like to remind them of all the goofy things they’ve done 🙂

I have three amazing “men” in my life – my dad, my husband, and my 8-year-old son. All of them are fantastic in their own ways. My dad is funny, supportive, and loves to travel with me. My husband is the coolest, most tolerant and awesome guy in the universe. And my little man inspires me so much with his innocent outlook on the world and his strong sense of justice and decency. He’s already a mini-activist, which I just LOVE! Can’t wait to see what an awesome adult he turns out to be.

Thanks for reminding me of how much I love and appreciate the men in *my* life. 🙂

A Loving and strong father is best teacher of daughter who teaches her how to handle the difficult situation and complex people in practical life.Daughters who grow under the strong passions and care of father can judge the men coming in her life better than neglected daughters. So for choosing such a husband the partial credit is given to your father your real support at your immature time.
Best regards for your content life. There is no substitute of such good relations in one’s life.

I’m glad you have such amazing family support. You deserve it. I’m big about family myself. My husband and parents love and encourage me, and my three boys inspire me every day. Thanks for reminding me how important they are. Have a blessed day, Lynn.
