Failure is the key to success.
Failure scares me. With each book I publish, I expose a little bit of my soul. Whether it’s through traditional publishing, self-publishing, Wattpad, Radish, I stare failure in the face each day.
What if people don’t like my books? What if no one reads my books? What if they write bad reviews? What if they laugh? What if I never get another book published?
See all that? It’s scary! Because yes, I’ve gotten bad reviews. People have hated my stories. Publishers have rejected proposed books.
But that’s ok. Because I write what I love. It’s fun getting lost in crazy worlds and characters while creating them. And some people do like my stories.
Just remember, you can’t please everyone, and you never will. The moment you accept that, the less fear of failure there is.
The failure will still be lurking, because whenever you try new challenges, you could fail. But when you realize and accept you can’t please everyone all the time, the sting of that lurking failure lessens.
As your confidence grows the fear of failure lessens as well.
So, what are you going to fail at today?
