This Writer's Journey

This Writer’s Journey . . .

Writing is a journey, one I truly love and enjoy, but it can sometimes feel rather lonely. Hour after hour, alone, at the computer, pouring your heart and soul into each word. But I’ve learned I’m not alone, in fact, I’ve been blessed to be in contact with some amazing people, both writers and non-writers.

I want to share a bit of that with you. Each week I’ll be spotlighting someone I’ve come in contact with during my journey. Thanks for stepping along side of me-all of you-during this exciting time!

Kelly Whitley

I met Kelly back in January during theSavvyAuthors.com workshop called EditPalooza. It was a crazy-intense month-long workshop that took us through the book Plot & Structure by James Scott Bell.

Kelly and I were assigned to be crit partners during this course.

Man, did I luck out! She’s a great writer and really hounded me on my weak spots-which was JUST what I needed and hoped for in a crit partner.

I’ll never look at the word FLINCH again without…well…flinching. **LOL**

I really enjoyed working with her. We’ve stuck together since the class and have since re-read each other’s work we edited in January before sending it out into the world.

I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with her in the years to come. She’s a great person and a valuable critique partner!
