Throwback Thursday

So, MTV celebrated thirty years on the air this past weekend. My little Debate This showed most liked the 1981 version of MTV better.

Kendall guessed which video was the first played on MTV…..And here it is:

The videos sure are different now, aren’t they? **LOL**

Have a Happy Throwback Thursday, everyone!

Oh, man… I graduated high school in 1984 and MTV was such a HUGE part of my experience–those at home quiet times were ALWAYS accompanied by MTV. I was in a small top 40 town (one radio station) and hung out with a heavy metal crowd. I felt like MTV opened doors (which is a crack-up if you think about it)

I look at it now and am pretty disgusted, but my kids watch all that bad reality stuff on there. I think it is still speaking strongly to the 12-17 demographic.

My first thought was “wow, look at all the clothes they’re wearing”. It seems everyone in music videoes today are half-naked and gyrate around. And despite no one playing them anymore, videos today are often pretty high-budget. Pretty cool walk down memory lane. Thanks Lynn.
