My post on Tuesday about X-Men: First Class got me in the movie mood. So, I just had to bring up Conan the Barbarian for Throwback Thursday.
Back in 1982 Conan the Barbarian hit the theatres.

These two might just make it to Debate This someday….
Have a fantastic Throwback Thursday!
I was a huge Conan/Red Sonja fan!
I’m really looking forward to the new version….
Sorry, Lynn. I hated this one. HATED it. When that dude cut off Conan’s mother’s head, I was over it. Done. Did not look at the screen again. Was on a date so I couldn’t leave but I didn’t wacth anymore of it.
To begin with this shows that the movie makers haven’t had an original idea in years. I saw the original and I think I’ll probably stick with it. Arnold, at least back then, did a good strong man and James Earl Jones, with that deep voice of his, perfect for the villain. The only thing the new one might have going for it is better computer generated action/fight scenes
Kendall – I’m so into Game of Thrones too. I’m not sure I ever saw the entire Conan. Hmm…funny being that I’ve always been into high fantasy. I’ll probably watch this one though.
I looks pretty good. I wasn’t very excited about that movie until that trailer. I love action movies, cool graphics/effects and hot nearly naked men. So this movie is right up my alley lol
I’m with ya, Christal.
I thought Conan the Barbarian was awesome…I mean James Earl Jones was in it!! Of course…the new Conan is muy caliente so I’ll have to watch to compare…for research, mind you! *cough 🙂
James Earl Jones. He made for a SWEET snake, huh? LOL. Yep, um, research. *cough* 🙂
The guy playing Conan in the remake is also on HBO’s Game of Thrones (my new obsession). He is total and utter hotness, though I like his look better in Game of Thrones. Grrrr…yeah, I’ll be going to pay him a visit at the theatre in August. 🙂 Oh yeah!
Game of Thrones. Haven’t seen it, then again, I don’t have HBO. But yes, I have to agree, this guy is rather nice looking 🙂
I never saw the original Conan, so I’ll probably pass on the remake. I’m a Planet of the Apes gal all the way! Happy Thursday, Lynn. 🙂
Ohhh, Planet of the Apes. I saw that. The ending ticked me off, though. LOL
I never saw the remake. I was talking about the original movies with Charlton Heston. They may have been before your time. 🙂
