Debate This . . . Candyman vs Nightmare
Debate This is all about voicing your opinion on really important things, such as Pepsi Vs. Coke, Nike Vs. Converse, and Twinkies Vs. Ho-Hos. **smile** Okay, so maybe they’re not super important, but they’re at least fun things to jaw about. . . .
Be sure to cast your vote on the poll below. I’ll share the results later. . . .

Candyman vs A Nightmare on Elm Street
Okay, this movie FREAKED me out. Candyman. Candyman. Candy….okay, I’m stopping there.
Now. I know I’ve mentioned this movie on this blog before. But never in comparison to another CRAZY-SCARY movie….
Nightmare on Elm Street. One, two, Freddy’s coming for you.
Three, four better…..**shudders**
But the question is….which is scarier?

Nightmare! It’s got everything! Those creepy little kids: “One…Two…Freddy’s coming for you…” And the scariest premise: “If you die in your dreams, you die for real!”
Lynn Rush
That whole die in you dreams thing…that creeped me out the most! Well, the song did too. Yikes.

I can’t like Candyman because every time I see the name, I get that crazy song by Sammy Davis Jr in my head and can’t get scared- other than of that song that’s like Chinese water torture. LOL!
Lynn Rush
LOL, Jillian!

OK on one hand we have Candyman…the movie that turned Bloody Mary into an urban legend, literally, and set a horror flick in a place where no one really expected — Cabrini Green.
On the other hand, we have Elm Street, a movie that can create real-life nightmares which can be horrifying considering that the story is about people that die for real when Freddie murders them in their dreams. It has enough blood and guts to make you cringe, but not enough to make you vomit. It also features a very cute, albeit very young Johnny Depp.
Nightmare on Elm Street is a legend among modern-day slasher flicks, but if I was at a video store looking for something to watch tonight, I’d pick up Candyman first. (Mostly because I already own NOES on DVD.) 🙂

HI, Kat!! You have great points here!! The Johnny Depp scene *shudders* that was the WORST!!! Oh my gosh the blood fountain. Ahhhh

They’re both scary but if you don’t say candy—, then you’re okay. You have no control over Freddy. *eep!*
😉
Lynn Rush
I know, right? But I just love Freddy’s nails…… LOL
Lindsay
Pass on horror movies thanks.
Lynn Rush
LOL! I pass on them now, too!
Savannah Chase
They are both freaky movies…..

I’ve never seen either movie. I’m a big chicken when it comes to scary movies. 🙂 Happy Monday!
Lynn Rush
I am now, but when younger, I watched them. Mostly at slumber parties. 🙂

I can’t even look at the poster of Candyman. LOL. I liked horror flicks in the 80’s but when I saw that movie. I was done. I am so glad I don’t have medicine cabinets in my house. 🙂
Lynn Rush
Yeah, that movie is freaking scary.
