Playing around…
I’m playing around with developing a new website, but I needed a new header. So, we’re throwing out some ideas about something simple, yet fun.
I’m into brainstorming (ask anyone who took my mind-mapping class at the Muse Online Conference)**LOL** So, I’m looking at all options whether they’re obviously not what I want to some that might work. So, here are a few we’ve come up with so far. And don’t mind the water marks…we’re just been playing around with the backgrounds before we purchase them….

Well, that’s it for now…..Any faves? Are they all junk? Heading in the right direction? Way off course?
Most of my novels are set in the desert so I’m hoping to find something along that line….
But we’ll see what happens

They’re all good! I’m a sucker for purple, so I love #2! But I really like #3 too! Oh, all of them! lol

I think none of them represent the obvious play on words you’re implying with the font in “Rush”. Pick a photo background that has some movement to it — like a sailboat, runners, bikers, mountain climbingβ¦ or some other adrenaline inducing activity that is well represented in the photo.
Just my two cents.
I wound up doing a banner that played off my second book in the series. It’ll be easy to switch when the third one comes out and will keep the site fresh looking if I change it often.

Good luck with yours!

On this round what about doing a poll. Seems that 1,3 and 5 are the most popular choices . Might make the decision easier at least for this round

I like 1 and 3 best, with 1 being my fave. I know how you love sunsets! π
Michele
#3 for sure! It’s vibrant just like you.
Brooklyn Ann
I like #3. It’s very Arizona-y and the font makes me think of Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote…but that’s ‘cuz I’m weird. π
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Brooklyn. The font is named Storm. I love it.
Cynthia D'Alba
I like #1 and #3
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Cynthia!
Dorothy Distefano
I’m a fan of #6….
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Dorothy. You’re a fan of black, huh? I love the contrast of the dark and light shades….
Megan DiMaria
I like #5. The blue sky makes it seem lighter. Unless of course you’re writing suspense and you want a moodier header, then I might pick one of the red/orange ones.
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Megan!!! π My paranormal romances are a bit on the dark side….Not super dark, though. Thanks for your comment!!
Penelope Marzec
Number 3 is my favorite. :^)
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Penelope. π

#4 or #7
Lynn Rush
I like 7 a lot, too. it’s not weird with that little bit of tree in there?
Melissa Kay
Hey friend, I like #3, but I will say I think I would like it better without the little curlicue thing in the background. Is that representative of something or just the way the clipart came? I like your name hanging out in the sunlight. Seems to parallel your sunny disposition! Happy choosing.
Lynn Rush
Hi, Melissa. Yep. That’s just the watermark. Once I purchase the picture, that’ll go away. π I’m thinking #3 might be the winner. π Most of my stories are set in the desert, so it’s fitting. And I love living in the desert. Such unique beauty here. And I love sunrises (as you all know by my constant posting of sunrise pictures LOL)…that might be the fit.
Thanks for weighing in!!
Tara Fuller
I like #3! I like that the header is bolder than in #4. π
Lynn Rush
I’m leaning toward #3 as well….. Thanks for weighing in π I hope to have the new site up by next weekend **crosses fingers**
Kat Heckenbach
Ditto what Tara said.
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Kat.
Ciara Knight
I like 3 and 4, but 5 is the closest representation to what you write.
Lynn Rush
Thanks!! I’m leaning toward #3 right now. I’m curious, how does #5 represent my writing (blue wisps)? I’m surprised so many people have mentioned #5. I like number 5, just not as much as 3 & 4.
Valerie Long
I like #1 and #7 best. =)
Lynn Rush
THANKS!! π
Katrina Whittaker
Yes number 5 it suits Wastelands π
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Katrina!!
Lindsay
#5 seems to be more you
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Lindsay! π
