Have you ever sat and reminisced about what was popular when you were a kid? Well…. “Then and Now” Thursdays is right up your alley.

Does anyone remember ZACH MORRIS from Saved by the Bell? Well, Mark-Paul Gosselaar has come a long way from a scrawny teenager on Saved by the Bell to the long-haired hunky attorney on Raising the Bar.

Now, I’ve never seen Raising the Bar…but BOY OH BOY, do I remember Saved by the Bell. But, my Then and Now post isn’t about Mark-Paul…more the cell phone he made so famous.  Remember that tank?

Zach’s phone would ring during class. Or he’d order a pizza while in detention.  Oh, that used to CRACK ME UP.  But the phones now, wow, they’ve gotten small, haven’t they?

So, any blasts from the past to share? I’d love to hear.

  1. OH MY GOSH! I LOVED Saved by the Bell!!! Many Saturday mornings were spent in front of the TV watching it…

My sisters and I always sit around talking about old TV shows that we loved. Cosby show, Family Ties, Full House, Growing Pains…

OH, and one remember Fun house? My sister and I remembered it the other day, the grand prize winner got this pair of tennis shoes (BK knights or something like that…)

Ohhhh, and then the old version of Wheel of Fortune, where the bonus round featured prize “rooms”.

  2. OMG! We talk about SBTB and Zach Morris ALL THE TIME here at the newspaper! We have lengthy conversations about that phone and the episode where Jessie takes too many caffeine pills.

    Awesome post today!

  3. I carried one of those tank phones around when I was on call at a as needed nursing agency. What a riot! It took up most of the top part of the grocery cart when I carried it to the store LOL! Remember cigarette butts on the floor of the grocery store? Yep, when I was a girl — late ’70s/early ’80s –smokers smoked and threw their butts everywhere! eww!

  4. Oh yeah, baby, Zach was such a muffin!

I always thought AC Slater was hot, too.

And oh wow, that phone! That’s great! I’m amazed by how technology has advanced just in my short lifetime. What’s it going to be like when my kids grow up?
