Genre Favorite Blogfest
Alex is having another super fun blogfest. He has the funnest blog, you MUST check it out!
And yes, I did say funnest. **LOL** I always think of Legally Blonde when she says “funner!”
It just makes me smile.
~~~~~
But…I digress.
This Blogfest is talking about three things I love:
Books, Music, and Movies!!!
The only bugger about this is trying to pick a favorite genre of each. LOL!
So, here’s my attempt.
[stextbox id=”custom” color=”ffffff” bgcolor=”1033ee”]Favorite Genre of Movie…[/stextbox]
ACTION.
I have some classic favorites such as Commando (Yes, I know, it’s cheesy, but I just love it), First Blood, Terminator and then some of the newer ones like Salt, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Thor, Avengers….So, you see my theme, right? Action, Action, Action! It’s such a rush.
[stextbox id=”custom” color=”ffffff” bgcolor=”1033ee”]Favorite Genre of Music…[/stextbox]
YIKES!
This one was hard. I love the hard stuff and pop…80’s music is huge…but I think I’m going to have to choose the hard stuff. Skillet, Red, Decypher Down, P!nk, Seether. . . But there will always be some classic favorites, too, like Mariah Carey (her older stuff), Whitney, Celine…..
[stextbox id=”custom” color=”ffffff” bgcolor=”1033ee”]Favorite Genre of Books….[/stextbox]
PARANORMAL!
Now that one was easy. Love me anything out of the ordinary with a KICK BUTT heroine!
[stextbox id=”custom” color=”ffffff” bgcolor=”1033ee”]Guilty Pleasure from any of these three categories…[/stextbox]
I’d have to go with the Gena Showalter Lords of the Underworld series. **whew** That is INTENSE! I’m so ready for the next one to come out. I’ve lost tons of sleep reading these!
Okay, that was fun!
I liked Mr & Mrs Smith more than I thought I would. When it comes to films, I’m happy with most things apart from horror – I really hate getting freaked out!
I’m an action movie addict as well. The Avengers was great, and all the X-men movies really turned out great. Do you ever consider writing something akin to an action movie turned novel?
L. Diane Wolfe
I loved The Terminator. One of my favorite movies.
Misha
I also love action movies. Especially if there’s at least some sort of plot keeping them together. 😀
I am so ready to watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith…anytime, anywhere.
love your music choices. Red and Skillet are faves of mine also.
The most recent action flick I saw was The Expendables 2. If you want action, then you gotta see this! Where else can you find Arnie, Rambo, Die Hard, and Chuck Norris, all kicking butt together? Just leave your brain at the door on your way into the cinema!
Some great choices! It was so hard to choose a favorite genre when there are so many good ones to choose from. I also love a great action movie and some of the classic singers like Whitney Houston…What a shame it was with her decline and death!
Hi, Lynn. I haven’t been by in a while. How is everything? It’s good to see you here in Ninja Alex’s blog fest. I just have to give you a high five for the First Blood shout-out. I grew up with that film and could recite nearly every line. I hadn’t thought about it in a long time. Thanks for bringing it up!
Hooray for action movies! I’ve never seen Mr. & Mrs. Smith (I’m not a big Brad Pitt fan but still I’ve heard the movie is good) or The Avengers–definitely plan to see that one.
I’ve heard those Gena Showalter books are NAUGHTY! 😉
Morgan Shamy
Love what a cool tough chick you are! Too fun. Gotta love the strong heroines! 😉 Great site!
I haven’t read Gina Showalter’s books, but it sounds like I need to investigate them! Thanks for leaving such a nice comment on my blog today. I’ll be on cloud nine due to that for the rest of the night!!
This is a great list! It seems to me as if we have many things in common.
Tamara
Mr. and Mrs. Smith was an awesome movie, and I love paranormal books (though generally more of the YA variety) 🙂 Great list!
Christine Rains
Great list! I’m a fellow paranormal lover. Gena Showalter’s books can get really intense.
Allison
Ah, the Avengers was amazing. I’ve gotta have the action in the books and movies I read and watch too.
My favorite Movie: Its a tie between Drama and Action
My favorite Music: Again a tie between Country and Soft Rock from the 70’s
My favorite Book author: I would have to say it would be Kate Douglas. I know her books are really graphic, but if you give them a chance you will find a wonderful story that goes with everything she writes.
My favorite Book genre: Adult Paranormal Romance, all thought there are some Young adult I enjoy.
Oh and Lynn, Gena Showalter’s “Lords of the Underworld” is an outstanding series.
Happy reading and writing*
Teresa
Lynn Rush
Thanks, Teresa. You’re right, Gena’s LOFU series ROCKS!!! IT’s a bit naughty, but I love her stories AND her characters!!
My favorite movies are generally animated movies – I’m a sucker for movies like The Little Mermaid and Robots. 🙂
As for music – I LOVE rock/heavy metal: Three Days Grace, Sevendust, (and the older rock – Poison, etc) things like that.
Books – OH GEEZ… This is almost impossible – but I will have to say MG/YA is my favorite. I love all of it from paranormal to fantasy.
I’m not quite sure what guilty pleasures are! LOL
Lynn Rush
Guilty pleasures. I kinda view that as reading something a little naughty? Or maybe eating something that’s not so good for you. Things like that. Gena’s stories are a bit…graphic. But I just love them!! 🙂
