Ides of March…
Plus, the company was good! **waves at Michele**
Summary from IMDB:
An idealistic staffer for a newbie presidential candidate gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail. Based on the play by Beau Willimon.
My thoughts:
Whoa…I was pleasantly surprised. Normally I don’t like political thrillers, but this one had me captivated from the beginning. I just hadto know what happened. And, some of the things surprised me…along with saddened me. I sure hope our government isn’t run like this. There were two depressing things about the movie.
1. It cast doubt on my faith in government.
2. My ears were pretty much bleeding from hearing the “F” so much. **shakes head** I can tolerate language in movies for the most part, heck, my stories are not free from swear words…but really, did they need to use the f-bomb every other sentence? Okay, not every other sentence, but close enough.
The acting was fantastic. I’m not a super huge Clooney fan, but he delivered. Mostly I loved Ryan Gosling’s performance. He’s a stellar actor for sure. I’d recommend this movie if you like political thrillers.

Have you seen it? What’d you think?

I wouldn’t usually watch those types of films either, my taste is more low brow lol. But sounds good!

Low brow, huh? That’s funny.

Thanks for the review Lynn. Some of my friends saw it and say it’s not heavy on the thriller angle but was still good and the acting was amazing. I know I’ll see it, though on bluray since our movie theater nights are few and far between with a baby. I love politics (even got my degree in it) and have been waiting for a good political thriller for a while. Thanks again for the great review.

A degree in politics? Wow! That’s impressive. I’m so NOT into them. I know that’s bad, but I’m really glad I went to see this movie!

I’m not a fan of political movies, but this one sounds good. And I *do* enjoy F-bombs. Hahaha!
Lynn Rush
I knew that when I put that part into my review you’d mention your love of the F-bombs!!!! BAHAHAHAHA!!
There were so many in this movie my ears ached. LOL!!!!! You would have been in heaven, sista! Love ya, girl!

Sorry, I haven’t seen the movie and from the previews I caught on TV don’t plan to. I’m not a big Clooney fan either, he’s over rated in my opinion. He does have his looks going for him though.
I’m not a big f-bomb fan either. Time and place just not every place. This will be a pass for me.

Time and place. You’re right. In my newest WIP, I actually dropped an F-Bomb. One in the entire book and it was just…needed at that point for the character. 🙂
Lindsay
Since I write sweets I don’t drop the bomb and I really don’t mind not doing it either.
