• Wasteland Music. . .

    SKILLET!

    Anyone who’s been following me on Twitter and Facebook for a while has seen me rave about this band. I’d heard them before, but about a month or so ago, I heard Awake and Alive and FELL IN LOVE.

    Even though I didn’t write Wasteland while listening to this song, when I heard it, I decided it represented the book pretty well!

    There are a couple verses that really stick out:

    When my faith is getting weak
    And I feel like giving in
    You breathe into me again

    The girl signing that part ROCKS. On the official video, she’s pounding the drums like a maniac while belting out this verse like no other! Amazing.

    Another verse I love:

    I’m at war with the world cause I
    Ain’t never gonna sell my soul

    If you followed the blog last week, you learned a bit more about David while he hosted for a few days. His demon half works to overcome his human half, but David refuses to give in. Understandably, he gets tired.

    And a little testy…..Like here, in this interview with Kendall Gray’s character, Gavin.

    David’s giving the whole interview-thing another shot, though. He’s getting interviewed on Ciara Knight’s blog today.Her character, Alexander, is asking a few pointed questions….Come check it out (click here.)

    Happy Tuesday, everyone. Thanks for sharing my journey to publication with me.

  • The Prize . . .

    Hi, everyone. Lynn here today. David needed a break from this computer technology stuff, it seems.

    I mean, he is half-demon, you know? Plus, that chick he met his first night in town here, Beka, has really thrown him for a loop. For some reason, she triggers his demon . . .

    Just think, being in total sensory depravation for 245 years, then thrown into the night club scene his first night out?

    Talk about sensory overload, right?

    Personally, I was surprised he made it this many days.I’m diggin’ David’s contest, though. So, I thought I’d tell you about the prizes he has in mind and give you a couple chances to earn some more entries.

    So, here are the prizes:

    1. One $10.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

    2. A box filled with romance novels.

    3. One $10.00 Visa gift card.

    4. An autographed copy of Wasteland once it’s released.

    Can I enter since it’s David’s contest???? *grin*

    So, here are your chances to earn FIVE entries into the drawing.

    Earn TWO entries for leaving a comment here, telling me one good thing that happened to you this week.

    Earn THREE entries if you go comment on the post at my agent’s website announcing the Wasteland Book Deal: CLICK HERE

  • Happy Weekending

    My friend, Lori, uses that word a lot, so I had to steal it.

    It’s just fun.

    Hope you have a great weekend. Stay tuned next week, I hear one of my characters might make an appearance . . . You just never know what they’re going to do. . . .

    In the mean time, check out this awesome picture:

    Found it on Photobucket. A few of my characters have wings, so this picture is right up my alley.

    Anyway. Enjoy your weekend.

  • This Writer’s Journey . . .

    ~~~
    Writing is a journey, one I truly love and enjoy, but it can sometimes feel rather lonely. Hour after hour, alone, at the computer, pouring your heart and soul into each word. But I’ve learned I’m not alone, in fact, I’ve been blessed to be in contact with some amazing people, both writers and non-writers.
    I want to share a bit of that with you. Each week I’ll be spotlighting someone I’ve come in contact with during my journey. Thanks for stepping along side of me-all of you-during this exciting time!
    ~~~

    Lisa Kessler

    I met Lisa through the FF&P group. For those who don’t know what that is-it’s the Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal chapter of Romance Writers of America. I’ve met so many great people through that chapter.

    What drew me to Lisa was her never-ending optimism. She’s always so positive and encouraging. Her writing is fantastic. You should check out her blog. She’s got some sweet fiction posted on there.

    Thank you, Lisa for being a source of encouragement and optimism for all those you come in contact with. I’m glad to know you and hope to meet you in person some day!

  • Movie Quotes

    Okay, I went with a bit of a theme this time. . .

    Cute–bordering on cheesy–love stories.

    1. I think you’re a hopeless romantic who’s discovered that romance is hopeless.

    2. Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.

    3. Here, you should try this out. Put this here. Swivelly door. Waffleonians can come in and out now.

    4. Tell me do you get a kick out of near death experiences?
