  • Cover Reveal…Inbetween

INBETWEEN (Kissed by Death, #1) by Tara Fuller (August 7, 2012)

    Blurb:

Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s
life has been a freaky-and unending-lesson in caution. Surviving
“accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so
Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling
in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who
makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.

It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate
has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him
hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before,
and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves
from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the
only thing he has left…his soul.

  • Origins Blogfest…

Thanks DL Hammons at Cruising Altitude for this fun blogfest. I love hearing about how people got started writing.

When my first novel released last September, I went on a blog tour and often got asked how I started writing.

Most people gave a giggle or gasped when I said I’d never dreamed I’d be walking this writing journey.

    As in….never.

I didn’t grow up writing little stories or poems. I wasn’t on the school newspaper or year book.

The only artistic thing I did was a little drawing and pottery, but that’s about it.

So, in 2007 when a story popped into my head after reading Frank Peretti’s This Present Darkness, I started writing. Within a few months I had an 87,000-word novel I had no idea what to do with.

My BFF told me, “Take the next step.”

I was like, “I don’t even know what the next step is.”

I started asking around and found an author who was willing to point me in the right direction: A critique group.

The rest is history. I’m so blessed to be on this writing journey, and I’m glad to have you along.

  • You Never Know….

One day last week, I got an email that pretty much rocked my world.

    In a good way.

Here it is (minus any names or things like that):

Hi!I finally read Wasteland, and you know what? I fell in love with it. Beautiful story, beautiful written. I can’t wait for ‘awaited’ to be released. Thank you for writing this amazing book

I read it once, twice, even a third time, and then the tears welled. Yep, even trickled down my cheek. For someone to take the time out to send an email…they just don’t even know how much that impacts the person receiving that note.

This email got me thinking, though. How often do I stop and send an encouraging note to someone? Whether it’s about some good service I received at a restaurant, or a helpful customer service person on the phone…Maybe it would be exactly what they needed to hear at that very moment.

Like this email was for me.

In the hustle and bustle of the day in and day out, we can never forget how much our words influence people. They can lift someone up or knock them down.

    I’d rather lift up. Encourage.

So thank you, dear reader, for taking the time to send me a note. I value each one I get and am so thankful for them!

  • Pay It Forward

Thank you, Alex J Cavanaugh, for putting on this blogfest!

I LOVE blogging, and I’ve met soooo many wonderful people because of blogging.

So, when I saw this chance to pay it forward, I was, like, “Count me in!”

I first started out blogging because I was told it was part of a writer’s platform.

It QUICKLY morphed into me just wanting to do it to interact with people. Meet people. Find cool blogs to hang out at.

When I first started on this writing journey, Rachelle Gardner’s blog really rocked my world. Don’t get me wrong, it still does, but it was one of the first ones I found and started following regularly. She was a newer agent back then, but she’s morphed into a force to be reckoned with in the literary world for sure! I loved watching that. She’s so inspiring.

A second blog I love to follow is Jennifer Daiker’s. She’s freaking hysterical, genuine, transparent, and genuine. Did I mention that one already? Check her blog out, seriously. You won’t be disappointed.

A third site I follow a bunch–but might not always comment–is Alex’s. Yep. I know he’s the host of this little blogfest, but I still have to mention it. Love the authenticity of the posts, his love of movies, and overall fun nature.

Now, I follow many, many blogs, so picking three to mention here is difficult. Be sure to check out my sidebar to see more sites I follow fairly regularly. And check out Alex’s post on Pay It Forward to see all the other blogs participating in this little blogfest. It’s wicked-huge!!!!

Happy Friday, my friends. I’m off to go visit some blogs, now!
