Wade through the yuck #TheRunningWriter

Wade through the yuck.

Tough things happen in life. After they pass, when I look back on them, they always work out.

It’s hard going through the yuck, that’s for sure. Even when you know it’ll be ok eventually, tough times can still take your mind down the spiral of frustration.

I usually tell myself and friends, “It’ll all work out in the end, it’s just the time in between that sucks.”

Frustration, fear and anger can be overwhelming. If we let them, those emotions can sap every bit of joy and peace from our souls.

If we let them.

Don’t give them that much power. Yeah, we might be in a rough patch for a bit, but it will end. Trust that. Find peace in that. Own it. And then, when you’re on the other side of the yuck, you’ll be able to see more clearly.

After the yuck, I usually end up noticing how things shifted and changed for the better. How I’m better for it. And, ultimately, how I might be able to help someone else through similar struggles.

So hang on through the yuck, my friends.
