Poltergeist
So, it’s October . . . time for scary movies, right?
We’re counting them down here on the blog. One a week until Halloween week, then it’s a movie a day until our number ONE choice.
Oh boy, it’s gonna be creepy. I’m such a wimp when it comes to scary movies.
*shiver*

Holy cow. I seriously got the goosebumps watching this trailer again. Something about this movie just totally and completely freaks me out. I think it’s the little girl’s acting. I never like seeing young kids in this kind of stuff. Like, I went to see Let Me In a while back and it was great, but difficult to see a twelve year old sucking blood, you know?
What’d you think of Poltergeist?

I’ve only ever seen Poltergeist once and it freaked me out. I’m not really good with scary movies.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and the Twitter follow.
Best of luck in your publishing journey!

Thanks for stopping by, Sarah. Just wait ’til next week. It’s a scary move PER DAY. LOL. 🙂
Thanks!!
Ciara Knight
I loved this movie. Hated the sequels, though. The lady with her hair in a bun is the most intense part of the movie. What happened to the cast is after the movie is even more sad and chilling. Good pick, Lynn
Lynn Rush
Yeah, the sequels were worthless, never bothered seeing them. Yeah, bun-lady was the best. LOL!
Elana Johnson
I think I’ve seen part of this movie before. And it freaked me out. Horror/scary stuff is so not my thing.
Lynn Rush
OH man, how she says There here. . . . that was enough to freak me out for weeks.

Poltergeist was the first horror movie I was allowed to see because it was PG-13. I needed therapy. I not only don’t mind seeing children in horror, I require it.
Lynn Rush
I almost needed therapy, too!! LOL!

Oh that one was good times! Lol, “They’re heeeeeere!” I live for horror movies year round, but it’s easier to convince the family to watch em with me around Halloween.
Lynn Rush
Yeah, I bet Halloween time helps with that. Last night on AMC they had one of the “jason” movies on. I put it on mute. Mostly laughed, though, cuz of the campy acting. . . . LOL

This is the reason why I have a fear of clown towns. I saw this as a child, when my sister had a friend over to sleep; we watched it on a tiny black and white TV (gosh, remember those days — now that is scary!) I can’t remember how old I was, but I do remember having to persuade my mum to let me watch with my older sister and her friend. It scared the living day lights out of me. But I loved it. I’ve always loved ghost stories, and questioned what happens after we die, for as long as I can remember.
I hope they play this one over Halloween — it’s one of my favorite scares.
I guess the first one had more impact because it was based on a true story.
The second one, the priest freaked me out…gives me the shivers just thinking of him.
The third one was plain spooky, and kinda sad, to watch because the young actress playing Carolann died half way through filming it.
Nice film picks, Lynn…I wonder what the next one will be? hmmmmm I hope you’ll put up the movie based on a certain house on Ocean Drive 🙂

Next week I’m posting a movie a day…so they are the top five. . . . . . they’re gonna be good. Yeah, clowns are freaky. They don’t scare me, but those big, red smiles look creepy!
Rebecca Zanetti
Hi Lynn! I’m such a wimp. I’ve never seen it. 🙂 I won’t even look at the trailer. Haha
Lynn Rush
You won’t even watch the trailer? That’s funny. I’m like that with a couple, too…well, I watch them, but through my fingers. LOL!
danicaavet
Oh yeah, this was one scary movie, but I love it.
Lynn Rush
Yeah, you had this on your movie list, too, didn’t you? Yeah, this was wicked-scary.
Jillian
I also thought it was very creepy. The woman with the funky voice was the crrepiest part to me. It was freaky!
Lynn Rush
I totally agree. I remember her from Sixteen Candles. LOL. Such a difference, right?? LOL!
Laura Diamond
Yup, saw it as a kid. Very scary. I like the first one better than the sequels.
Lynn Rush
I’ve not even bothered watching the sequels. I mean, I’ve seen bits of them, but .. . . yeah, not so much.
