What is your sponge soaking up?
We usually say that kids are like sponges. It’s true, because they are experiencing things for the first time. Their little personalities are forming.
But it’s also true for adults.
What we expose ourselves to influences our thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
I notice that if I’m watching a scary show, I’m jumpy for a while after while happy shows leave me uplifted.
If I’m around negative, gossipy people, I tend to join in.
It’s important to watch out for that, because it’s so easy to fall into things you don’t want to do, think or say if you’re constantly around it.
Who are you surrounding yourself with? How’s it influencing you? What changes—if any—need to be made?
Stay strong, my friends.
